Scripture: 1 Thess. 2:1-16

Title: Ministry Motivations - M&Ms: Why & How we do what we do

Theme: Having started rejoicing in the faithful works of this young church Paul now proceeds to outline his motivations in ministry. Since we are all “ministers” this is not just applicable to church ministers but to us all. (1) First Ministry Motivation - M&M - concerns the orientation: Is it “of me” or is it “of God”? (2) Second Ministry Motivation - M&M - concerns the context: Is God seen as the witness - as the one really present - in all our living? (3) Third Ministry Motivation - M&M - concerns the style: Do we see our life as being good mothers and fathers? (4) Fourth Ministry Motivation - M&M - concerns the direction: Is it for the future or from the future?

Goal: As we take communion and reflect on Jesus’ M&Ms to reflect on our own ministry motivations - M&Ms: why and how we do what we do in our lives.
