00:00-01:16 Scripture, Ezekiel 36:16-23
01:19-30:49 Sermon, Ellis Andre
There is nothing we can do to make God any holier than God already is. Not even God can do that. God is already consistently perfect and resplendently holy. But we are invited to pray "Hallowed by Thy Name." This is the first of six distinct but related petitions. It is a bold petition, not a vague, feel-nice sentiment. Why is it the first of the six petitions? What are we asking God to do and how and when do we expect him to do it? And what role, if any, do we play in the full realization of this request?
